Pandolce Basso is the sweetest part of the history of traditional Genoese cuisine. In the days of the Maritime Republics it was used by Ligurian sailors as a commodity for trading with Eastern populations. Although in ancient times it was considered as a ‘poor man’s’ cake due to its simplicity, in actual fact Pandolce Basso has always been extremely ‘rich’, thanks to the high quality of its raw materials.
We also make an even more luscious version of Pandolce Basso, adding chocolate and hazelnuts to Francesco Panarello’s ancient recipe. Made with care, using only natural ingredients such as pure butter and the highest quality milk, this delicious cake guarantees mouth-watering pleasure slice after slice, and is a must on the festive table.


Wheat flour, chocolate drops 21.6% (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, low fat cocoa powder, emulsifier: soy lecithin, salt, flavourings), butter, sugar, milk, egg yolk, hazelnuts 4%, Marsala wine, baking powder (disodium diphosphate, acid sodium carbonate), wheat starch.
This product may contain traces of: other nuts, peanuts and peanut-based products and sulphur dioxide.
